Article Processing Charges

The International Journal of Legal Science and Innovation (IJLSI) is a fully open access, double-blind peer-reviewed law journal — every published article is freely available to readers worldwide, with no subscription, paywall, or reader-side access fee. To sustain this open model, authors whose manuscripts are accepted after peer review pay a single Article Processing Charge (APC).

No submission charge. The APC is payable only upon acceptance — never at the time of submission, and never during review.

The charge is flat and all-inclusive. There are no submission charges, no charges for rejected manuscripts, and no surcharges based on article length, number of pages, figures, or any other factor. The APC becomes payable only after formal acceptance following double-blind peer review.
What the APC Covers

Where your charge is spent

IJLSI runs no subscriptions and sells no content. The Article Processing Charge is the journal's primary source of operating revenue, spent on the editorial, production, and platform work that keeps every accepted article peer-reviewed, professionally produced, and permanently free to read.

Unlike many international journals that charge hundreds or thousands of dollars per article, IJLSI keeps its APC deliberately modest — consistent with the founding commitment of VidhiAagaz to lower the financial barriers to legal scholarship without ever lowering editorial standards.

Editorial Administration
Coordination of the double-blind peer review process, reviewer matching, author correspondence, revision rounds, and final editorial decision-making — including the administrative cost of handling manuscripts that are ultimately not accepted.
Copy-Editing & Typesetting
Professional copy-editing, Bluebook-style citation checking, and typesetting to the IJLSI house template, producing the final published PDF that is released under open access.
Plagiarism Screening
Every manuscript is screened with Turnitin and/or Drillbit as part of the editorial process — and, importantly, without submitting your work to any external repository, so your originality is preserved.
e-Certificate of Publication
An individual e-Certificate of Publication is issued to every author of an accepted manuscript on the day the article goes live.
Open Access Hosting
Long-term hosting of the journal website and the open access platform through which all published research stays freely available to readers worldwide, with no subscription or reader-side fee, ever.
Indexing & Discoverability
Compliance and metadata work that keeps IJLSI discoverable across genuine indexing and abstracting services — including Manupatra, ROAD, and Google Scholar, alongside DRJI, SJIF, ResearchBib, I2OR, ICI and Citefactor. Inclusion of any individual article in a given database remains subject to that service's own independent policies and timelines.
Quality & Certification
Maintenance of the journal's ISO 9001:2015-certified editorial workflow, editorial-board governance, and the broader administrative work of running a bi-monthly, peer-reviewed law journal.
Important Policies
No Payment Before Acceptance
The APC is payable only after your manuscript has been formally accepted. Payment details are sent by the editorial team by email at the time of acceptance. Please do not make any payment before you receive an official acceptance communication from IJLSI.
No Charge for Rejected Manuscripts
If your manuscript is declined at any stage — initial screening, peer review, or revision — no charge applies. You carry no financial obligation whatsoever until the manuscript is accepted and you have received a formal acceptance email.
Refund & Withdrawal Policy
Once the APC has been paid, no refund is issued. An author may request withdrawal of a manuscript before it is published; however, a paid APC will not be refunded in such cases. Withdrawal is not permitted after an article has been published.
Waiver & Hardship Requests
IJLSI does not run a formal waiver scheme, but it will not let genuine financial hardship stop good scholarship. Authors facing real difficulty may write to submission@ijlsi.com setting out their circumstances, ideally at or before submission. Each request is considered on its own merits, at the sole discretion of the editorial board.

How to pay

Indian and international authors pay through a single secure page. Pay only after you have received an official acceptance email from the editorial team — the message will name the exact amount due and link to the payment page.

Submit — free of charge
You submit your manuscript through the online system or by email. Nothing is payable at this stage, and no payment is ever requested to begin review.

Double-blind peer review
Your manuscript is screened for plagiarism and sent for double-blind peer review. If it is not accepted, the process ends here at no cost to you.

Acceptance & APC
On formal acceptance, the editorial team emails your acceptance letter together with the applicable APC and a link to the secure payment page.

Production & publication
Once payment is confirmed, your article is copy-edited, typeset, and published in open access, and your e-Certificate of Publication is issued.
