These effects affect not just the girl but also her family and community. Significant progress in the reduction of child marriages has contributed significantly to the global drop in the prevalence of the practise. The drop might be attributed to a variety of causes, including higher maternal literacy, improved access to education for girls, stringent regulation, and migration from rural to urban regions.
